Ed, whenever you & Georgie are all settled back into the swing of things in Sydney, I’m hoping to hear you play “Orange Blossom Special.” I’m still thinking of fiddling lessons yet, as Nanny Hall’s old fiddle is collecting dust in mom & dad’s linen closet.
My husband is looking forward to meeting you, when you return. He’s hoping too, to have a game of cards with you as well. *HUGS*
March 20th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
Hi Ed and Georgie, we are thrilled to hear that you finally had your surgery and are doing well! Judging by the photos you look like a new person. I hope you remember us because you have been in our thoughts and prayers often since we left T.O. to return to Montreal last Aug. We have warm thoughts of the kind and brave people we met while going through our ordeal. Donovan is doing great so far and we pray it stays this way. He celebrated his daughter’s first birthday this past week ! All because of the miracle of transplant. We extend our sincere well wishes to you and your family and to all the good people at the Toronto General Hospital .

Hi to you both: We continue to watch your progress with amazement. How happy you must be. The weather here in old CB is nasty today with lots of snow and especially lots of wind. Speaking of lots of wind (grin), Ross hopes you and he will be in the water this summer telling lies and fishing.
I backed our car into our boat the other day - the only thing Ross worried about was if I did any damage to the boat…..luckily for me I didn’t but I did scrape quite a bit of rust off the front of the boat and placed it on the trunk of the car. I’d like to say I did it on purpose, but of course I didn’t.
Take care - you look fantastic in the recent photos online.
Val and Ross.

Ed my friend, the whole Elworthy family is looking forward to your eventual safe journey back to Cape Breton soil. I’ve been keeping track as to how you’re doing, and always let mom know when there’s a new update on your blog. She’s just as happy as I am.
Would you believe too Ed, that Aunt Girlie turned 90 last month? I haven’t seen her since my wedding in November of 06, but even then, she looked terrific.
When I see your Uncle Charlie at church, he’s always very pleased about your progress. Life is all about taking the bull right by the horns, and not letting go. You took the bull by the horns buddy, and haven’t let go yet. Keep up your positivity. I think that we can all take a cue from you:-) *HUGS* to you & Georgie.

Trees
As I look at the beauty that surrounds me, and the trees that are around me and now the winter is over and the trees are no longer covered with snow and sleet and then they wake up after their long winters sleep. Then nature takes over and the birds take a peek.
Their leaves and blossoms will follow with their aroma so sweet and the bees will then follow and provide us with their treat.
Now the trees have just started after their long winter’s nap to provide us with their leaves and their sweet maple sap.
The next you see is the beauty of needles, blossoms and leaves and you know that only that beauty can some from the trees.
Now all of this beauty is a part of the plan as their fruit will grow all over the land.
As their work still continues as we work and sleep for now they provide us with clean air and sweet fruit to eat.
And now that autumn is coming and they are getting ready to sleep then they will surround us with their colour and beauty to see. Next the leaves will be falling, but their work will not end and they now provide us with lumber and heat.
One thing we must never forget, is whether the trees are dry or wet or whether they are trees we have planted we can cut them to pieces and take then for granted.
One thing we must know is that their loyalty never ceases and or our protection they drop their seeds and protect their species.
That’s nature’s way although we can’t see or hear it and when they show us their colours and they are dressed in their best we must realize how richly we are blessed.
Trees really are good friend. Let’s hope their cycle will never end.
One other thing we must never forget are the animals and birds the trees protect. If we all would take time to go for a walk or hike and really learn what nature is like.

Hello Ed & Georgie,
Just had a look at your site and am so very pleased that things are finally working out for you. Ed, you look terrific!! Dr. Gracie & I try to keep up with your progress. It all looks great.
Thank you, Georgie for calling after the surgery.
I love your Toronto Mapleleaf shirt. Both Dr. Gracie & I are fans of that team.
I am looking forward to seeing you when you arrive home in Sydney. I am sure you will come so we can see you breathing without the oxygen and in much better health.
Best regards,

Hi - great to hear you’re doing so well Eddie…..can’t keep a good-old “dog” down. I’m sure all the love and support you’ve been receiving has done nothing but put you and your family in a very positive spot now.
Ross was talking about you the other day and said that when his boat gets afloat and you feel up to it - you guys could have a little trip around the harbour. I’m sure if JOHN CHESAL can catch make believe fish I’m equally sure ROSS BARRETT can tooo (grin grin).
Must go as I’m off to church with my little grandsons and Mr. Wonderful (Ross) is getting some beauty rest. I’m still working on my family tree and haven’t as yet come across any royalty in my family……NOT YET!
Valerie.

Hi Eddie & Georgie,
I’m so happy to hear that everything is going so well. Isn’t it wonderful having the green card. No doubt you are well into your post-transplant rehab now. I found that each day my strength would increase; however, it has taken me a while to get all the strength back in my legs. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I hope to see you soon; I’m being extra careful right now about going into the public because the one time I did I got a cold. It made me realize I’ve got to take the immuno-suppression very, very seriously. Still, I hope to see you soon. Ann

Hi Eddie - Have been checking this site and with Mike on your progress. So glad to hear you are doing so well. It has been a long haul, but you and Georgie did it. Hopefully when you get back home, you, Mike, Dave, Denny and the rest of the jazz crew can get together for a jam session - just like the ones at Rudy’s house. Those were the days, eh! Take care, Eddie, and will be looking for you both walking at Centre 200.

Dear Tappy,
I read about your transplant in the newspaper . I have a lung desease called alpha-1 . It is a hereditary condition. Long story short , I am now on home oxygen and in need of a double lung transplant. The oxygen now is not helping me , only keeping me alive. I can’t get oxygen from the air. Toronto transplant - Dr. Shapiro set up a web cam interview with me for this month , what I gather , from there to Toronto for the week of assessment, than from there on the list (living in TORONTO). My wife will have to take a leave from work to come with me. I was wondering , what places we could stay ?? the cost ?? how close to hosp.? If you could send me some of this imformation it would be greatly appreciated. I am so glad to hear you are getting along so good. It gave me some hope. I am also from Cape Breton , I am from New Waterford and I am 50 years old. Without this transplant my diagnosis is death. I am now in a wheelchair to get out to a doctors appointment. hope to hear from you and glad to hear you will be gettig home soon. Gordie Eldridge

Just checking in to see if you are being a good boy and doing what you are told, but I can see Georgie is keeping a close eye on you and I can’t blame
her since I know you well. I hope these new lungs will love there new home and want to stay forever. I know they have found a wonderful person, it is up to them to find out for themselves. Think of you often.

Dear Eddie and Georgie:
Congratualations on your wonderful gift! Jean Marie just left here.
We were all elated on Monday when we got the news. John Chesal has
been keeping people posted here all along on your progress.
What a great Christmas present. Jean Marie says that you are recovering
very quickly, better than expected. Hopefully you'’ll be home in a few
weeks or months…
We will all have to get together to celebrate and have a drink to your
health and happiness.
Merry Christmas to both of you, and your family, and
Lots of good health and prosperity in the 2008!

Hi Georgie and Eddie, I know you can’t see me but I have the biggest smile on my face and a tear or two in my eyes after seeing the pictures of Ed up and walking. All of our prayers were answered. When Jean-Marie called and told me I had to compose myself and not break down and cry in front of my girlfriend. We are all thinking of you.
According to my calculations Ed should be home just in time for the start of fishing season, and boy do we have some good spots to get to. One lake in Gabarus comes to mind, we couldn’t get there with the car, ask Ed, if he will spill the beans!!!!! Hopefully we will talk to you both soon. we all love you very much. Keep on truckin.
December 18th, 2007 at 9:34 pm
FINALLY !! My thoughts and prayers are with you, Georgie and Ed… What a wonderful Christmas gift. Christmas will be extra special this year !! This is what Christmas is really all about — Miracles … Well this miracle couldn’t have happened to a more deserving man. All the best with your recovery Ed, with all the doctors and your dedicated wife, you are in good hands. Merry Christmas !
December 18th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
Hi Eddie, (and Georgie and kids)
Great to see you up and around. If you can drag all that machinery with you on your walkabout, I see no reason why we shouldn’t be able to catch a fish or two this summer. I oiled the reel this morning, and have already begun putting together a few “fish stories” about the big ones we caught and released. Too bad we’ll forget the camera, so we won’t be able to provide photographic evidence of our success.
No matter, why would anyone doubt what we say?
Keep improving, and we’ll wet a line sooner than we think. In the mean time, I’ll keep constant good thoughts for you.
Best wishes.
John

What else can we say….we are so happy to hear of this miracle given to you during such a special time of the year. I ran into Kathleen Lewis just the day before you received the wonderful news and we were chuckling to think that Georgie must rarely be off her knees with her extensive prayer list for so many. And now, after such a long journey, this prayer of true luv from the heart has been answered. God Bless U all. We luv you MERRY, MERRY Christmas.

Dear Eddie and Georgie,
We are so happy to hear everything is going well. We keep checking the blog for the latest update. It has been an emotional weekend for everyone here in Cambridge/Kitchener.
After a long year of waiting it has turned out to be the best Christmas present anyone could ask for.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,

Hi Everyone: If this snow keeps up they will be calling in the troops again, I can just see it. LOL The problem is the distances the employees commute around here a couple of hundred Kms a day is nothing for some.
This is very unusual for Toronto/Hamilton to get dumped on like this and it always smacks them up the side of the head.
I was so happy to read the update today, hang in guys, this will all be but a dream.
The wonderful warm support for each other from your Family is so evident and I am sure you will be just ready to tear up the strings soon again. I really need to get over to see you before you go back home. Love Doreen obvi

Hi Eddie & Georgie,
What wonderful news! I am so happy for both of you that I just had another good cry (I had a cry last night after you phoned Georgie). It really is a miracle and it brought me back to Sept. 21st when I received my miracle. I cry whenever I think about it - a cry of joy and thankfulness (I had no idea it would all be so emotional). The first little while you might feel the pain and the nausea, but every second of it is worth it. With your positive attitude Eddie, you’ll be home before you know it. It really is the best Christmas present ever. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Love, Ann (Gerard, Rebecca & Joel all send their best wishes and congratulations.)

Our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery and your return home. I am sure the hospital has been a hive of activity with everyone there wanting just a few more minutes to see and believe that this has really happened, almost like Santa arrived for everyone last night.
I guess someone heard my complaint of all wonderful healthy organs going to waste in Toronto every weekend. I am sure that the grieving family that were so generous will be granted some peace to know that they were able to give one Family a very deserved and special Christmas this year. Love to all of you, Doreen
December 15th, 2007 at 3:37 pm
Ed, Jean Marie phoned me this morning, telling me the good news, and that you got along fine with your surgery. I called my mom, and she & dad wish you a speedy recovery. Just got off the phone too with Aunt Doreen in Hamilton, and she’s elated beyond belief. Was also talking to Aunt Girlie, and she was ecstatic about you getting your new set of lungs. You can count on Aunt Doreen passing along the good news too, to Donna in Calgary.
Talk soon:)

Eddie, Georgina,
I check your site from time to time – I really enjoy hearing about your adventures in our great city!
My Mum (Molly Carling) came home from the hospital today after a small set back. She came down with a touch of Pneumonia and also managed somehow to break a bone in her hip. After a few weeks of intravenous antibiotics and a few screws in the hip – she’s well on the way to recovery.
We (the entire family) hear about the stories of all the wonderful people our parents have met through the transplant program, Mum and Dad speak of you both often.
I wanted to send a quick note to let you know you are in our thoughts and we are all praying that your new lungs arrive very soon. I know from personal experience of the life changing impact the transplant can have and am hopeful you and your family will experience this shortly.
All the best,
Margaret Kane

Hi Eddie & Georgie,
I’ve been thinking of you a lot recently. I hope everything is going as well as can be expected. It must be difficult to stay positive, but remember when the right lungs come along, the doctors will know it and so will you as soon as you wake up. Just try to remain as strong as possible (without overdoing it) until your miracle happens. I’m praying for you. Love to you both, Ann

I heard about this site/blog from a friend……
Being ill is terribly difficult, both my parents have had very close calls over the past few years. During both times, it was a battle on every level for them to get well again.
I have great memories of the kind of family you were and continue to be…. strength, love, laughter, and true determination….
Ed you are in my thoughts, and I wish you the best!
take care,

Let me first let you know who I am. I am a friend of your kids from Westmount and school and although I don’t recal meeting you, I would like to take this opportunity to say hello and send well wishes.
I think you have the most wonderful family. You all care for each other so much and the love and support is amazing. Who could ask for a better family at a time like this. I myself have lived the Toronto experience (the luck of a Caper) with more than a few mishap stories to share. I also found that no matter where I was in Ontario, or how much trouble I managed to get myself into, around the corner, waiting to help in any way possible, was a Cape Bretoner or Newfoundlander. I was starting to be able to pick them out in a croud. So glad you are stumbling across them as well as I did in times of need.
Leave it to God to send a Caper.
God Bless all that have helped and will help you through this time.
Wishing you the best,
Lisa Rhymes

Hi Georgie and Eddie, it has been awhile since I sent you a little note, although you are in my prayers every night. It is hard to believe almost a year has gone by, looking forward to giving you a big hug when you come home. Georgie, I know you don’t want to hear this, but, I found someone who could give your apple pie a run for its money, since you are not here I had to find a replacement. What a cook she is. Maybe we could have a bake off and I would be the taste tester. Love you guys.

It was great to visit with all of you on July 28/07. Having some good laughs and seeing Georgie and Eddie was wonderful. We are really hoping we can get together for a BBQ sometime in August 2007 when you are down in Cambridge and make sure you bring enough oxygen. I promise you won’t have to climb any stairs or ramps. We are praying for you and hopefully the new lung will come real soon. If there is anything we can do just give us a call. You know our #. Take care.

Eddie,
My husband & I had a chance to meet up with Barry back in June, when he was home for a week. I also had the chance to purchase one of his cookbooks too:-) Carl & I were very happy to purchase one of the cookbooks, to help out you & Georgie. Not to mention, helping Barry get caught up on some of the news from Mira Road.
It’s so nice to read about the visits from your kids & grandchildren. Betcha it must have been really quiet after they left for home.
My shifts at the call centre are changed now. Working now from 2PM to 10:30PM dong activations for Sirius Satellite Radio, instead of from 7AM to 3:30PM. Carl will be in the new Future Shop store in the Mayflower Mall next week, for the “soft opening.” Then the week after next, is the BIG grand opening. My husband will be doing inside sales for the appliance department, and he’s also licensed to repair fridges. That means that he’ll be able to explain the inner & outer workings of a fridge to the customers that have questions:-)
I’d better scram for now since Kevin’s daughter Stefanie is home from Calgary until Sunday, and she wants to get together before I have to be at work for 2PM. *HUGS*

Hello Ed & Georgie,
Great site and well done. Just learned of it on June 10th, from Clare & Ron MacLean at a Red Cross trainng session. I have been “out of the loop” for some time. We have moved out of Glace Bay & into a seniors apt. in Dominion.
Spent the past few hours going over your postings and love your viewpoint on life. I put Ernie’s website here you might want to pass some time there. http://www.tohgillis.com
In Chinese tradition it is not so much the wedding service but the reception where the “Families” unite. So he says he was married four times but to the same woman. It was great to hear of at least one other CBC person.

Hi Eddie & Georgie,
I tried posting a message earlier, but it didn’t go through. It said there was an e-mail error, so I’ll keep this short as a test. It was really good seeing you today. Your blog is great - so informative and so creative. I get a real sense of the two of you and your family, old and new here in Toronto. Your loving support for each other comes through, especially in the photographs. See you soon. I hope and pray you get the call soon. Love, Ann

Hi Ed,
My wife Karen (Les & Evelyn’s Karen) told me about the site, and she’s really good to let me know about when you make an update. Just want to send my own wishes for a speedy recovery, and to also say that I was one of the many people at your benefit jam back in November, that signed an organ donor card.
Hope to see you back sooner rather than later, to do some fishing.

Top of the mornin’ to you both!
It was wonderful to see you Georgie and Eddie and you are right, our time together was brief, but beautiful. Brian and I spent a glorious two days in Toronto, and for me, having that little time together at your home was the highlight. My kids were pretty darn mad that I would not take them along from the Cape for the hour or so visit. They in their own words said…”But Mom Georgie is like a second mother to us!!”
Sending you this note as a reminder of our constant prayers and luv for you. I’m so grateful to know you both. Continue to take good care of yourselves and each other.
May 1st, 2007 at 3:28 am
Hi Eddie and Georgie: I just finally got onto your blog and wow is it ever neat. You’ve done a great job at keeping it up to date. Ken and I keep praying that any day you will get “the call” and new lungs will be available. Until then, we will see you in physio.

Hi Big Ed!
I have something to tell you…do you remember when me and Jean-a threw a bar of soap out of your bathroom window? Well I have to tell you the truth now; it wasn’t really soap. And do you remember when the whole corner of the chocolate chip cake was missing - well it was me then too. I persuaded Jean-a to sneak me a piece. (and we won’t even get into what Murray did). Good God, those LeJean kid’s really gave you a going over…lol!! Those Midgley Drive days….!!Big Ed, I would like to say to you that you have always been such a kind wonderful man and I pray with all of my heart for you. Keep strong, our prayers will be answered soon. Take care and God Bless! Hi to Georgie….!

Hi
My aunt Donna (Peters) Frost just told me about this website. I remember meeting you when I was a young ‘un! My father is Charlie Peters and my grandfather was Papa Had (Uncle John’s brother). I, too, would have loved to hear you doing the Orange Blossom special - I bet Aunt Pauline would have loved to have been there to join in. I always loved going to your place on Sunday afternoons to listen to all of you play music - wish I had inherited a bit of that talent but I guess playing the spoons doesn’t count! Anyhow, I will keep you in my prayers and continue to check out your blogs. Say hi to cousin Barry for me (I had a lot of laughs with him at the Peters reunion over 10 yrs ago).

Dear Ed & Georgie:
I need to pick your brain again, We thought we had Lucy MacNeil playing harp at Corrie’s wedding but it fell through because of a family wedding in the MacNeil family, so we are looking foe a violin player for the service. Any suggestions? Hope u have a nice Easter, let me know if anyone comes to mind.
Best Wishes

Hi Eddie & Georgie,
I have been reading all of the postings since Doreen told me about this
site just recently. Sounds like you have adjusted quite well to life in
the big city. Its wonderful to see that you have so many friends plus
family in the area. Lots of shoulders to lean on. Just want to add my
love and best wishes. Think of you every day and keeping you in my

Nice picture, looked like you were having some fun, wish we could join you, looks like a nice pub. Maybe next year we can all celebrate St. Patrick’s Day together. Really enjoy reading your blog, Georgie, you two people are so strong to find good out of all this. I don’t often post but I am always checking out the site and thinking about you. Can’t wait for you to get home again. Jean Marie’s dog is so cute. She had him out the house but Bruce wasn’t too fussy about him. lol. Bye. Miss you guys.

Hi you guys: I just got back to earth and found out you have been in Toronto all this time. Karen is slipping up I think, or I didn’t hear her. I certainly would like to get together as some point since I am in Stoney Creek, just outside Hamilton. Now that spring is here Beth will be coming up from New York through the snow belt, and we would love to get to Toronto to see you. I am so sorry that I didn’t know you were there over Christmas, I am sure we could have arranged something being an hour or less away.
Sure would love to have been in that pub when you had it rockin. Love D
Was talking to Donna (Peters) Frost, last night, gave her your site too!
Keep that positive attitude going dude, its the best medicine.

Dear neighbors:
Lorne and I look forward to checking your blog every nite, you are truly talented when it comes to story-telling, we enjoy every story and are able in a small way to see things through your eyes. We think of u both often and are happy to see u r settling into Toronto. Now I have a question for you Ed, I need to find a harpist for Corrie’s Wedding and thought you might have some info. If u can point me in the right direction, that would be great. Well gotta go earn some WEBKINZ $ for Rhyan. Be Well

Eddie,
Judging from reading your blog over the past 2 days, I was thinking about something: If there’s one thing that you’ve got in your favor, it’s your tenacious spirit.
I was talking to your Uncle Charlie just before church this morning, and I was telling him about you playing the “Orange Blossom Special” after reading your blog. Charlie just smiled as if to say “That’s Eddie for ya:-)”
The whole Elworthy clan is continuing to root for you, including my husband too

Hello Georgie and Eddie, I know it’s not the same as home but it sounds like you are getting along well. As for your daily blog, a little gossip never hurts to spice things up. Georgie, if you keep up your fitness until you come home, I just may take you on one of my ” short runs’. Keep it in mind! Ed, not that I’m keeping track or anything but there is less than 22 days left to the start of fishing season. I sure wish you would be here but I know we will have lots of fishing trips when you get home.Keep on trucking.
Love you guys,
Rickey

Hi Eddie: I thought I would check in on your site after finding a card with your email address in my purse. You are a great storyteller - you should write a book. Hope this note finds you in good spirits.
Ross is “busy” all the time while I slave all day at the OFFICE - gov’t office of course. I hope to retire soon and continue working on my family tree. Hope you are able to keep working on yours……maybe we’re related (grin).
Thinking of you - we’ll keep you in our prayers - Ross and Val.

Hi Georgie & Eddy:
I can’t believe it took me this long, and for that I apologize, but I first checked out your website today. I can only say that Eric and I thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday afternoon reading your comments and descriptions of your adventures thus far in Toronto. Some parts had me laughing out loud and other comments you made had me in tears.
You are a wonderful writer and very entertaining and your attitude is “out of this world”. I think reading your blog is going to be an evening ritual at our house from now on.
Wishing you both the very best,
Eric & Beth
February 19th, 2007 at 11:52 pm
Ed,
I’m so glad to see from reading your blog, that you are remaining so positive, through all of this. Whenever I phone Aunt Girlie, she always asks about you & Georgie. God love her b’y, hard to believe that she turned 89 last month (thought she was going to be 90) *Blushes*
Aunt Girlie, Barb & Matt, and of course Aunt Sis, all send their love to the two of you.
Keep the awesome sense of humour coming, Ed. *HUGS* Laughter truly IS the best medicine:-D

Hi Ed and Georgie:
Just a little note to say hello. I have been reading your blog and I see that you have been really busy. It’s nice to see all the support that you have and to see that people have been keeping in touch with you through your site. Eddie, I can’t imagine how you must feel to fight for every breath you take. You seem to be taking it all in stride and hats off to you for that. Your humor is still staying sharp! The support that people share with you and Georgie will be something you will have to treasure forever. I am remembering you in my prayers and I keep in touch with Shirley on your progress. She gave me your site address and so I will contact you occasionally and keep up with your blog. Georgie, keep up the walking. I find it very therapeutic to keep things clear in your mind and helps you to sort out your feeling that are so difficult to share with other, especially at times like the so trying ones you are facing now. I found it so helpful to me to walk during my trying times. One time Georgie, you gave Shirley a little book of prayers for the family to give to me and I still have the book. It helped me a lot, I never forgot it. I hope that my prayers will bring you both comfort if nothing else. Ed, keep your chin up, someone has a special gift for you soon! I have always believed in organ donation and I have signed for such many years ago. I know there is someone out there like me that has signed their forms just for you.
Best Wishes Lorna

Hello Red Ed & Georgie,
I read your email to Rickey, and I just want to know something Ed?….
Do you stay up late at night and think these funny things up??? I mean really Ed… The Valentines’ bribes weren’t funny enought that you had to throw in the chocolates shaped like FISH no less… My dear friend, are you getting tooooooooooo much oxygen??? Georgie– leave those control valves alone… This man is in serious trouble come April when fishing season opens and Ed is not on highway heading towards a water hole…
Ha Ha Ha !!!
Talk to ya’ll soon,
Barb Krszwda

Hello again,
Just wanted to tell you guys to have a good weekend. I am going against the stats and viewing your site and leaving a message on a non peak day and a non peak time! Friday at 1:45pm.
Hey, I was mentioned on your site! Do I get any royalties for that? (Hi Scott, sorry it has been so long! I’ll get your number from your folks and give you a call)
Not much really to say Ed, just hope all is going well and wanted to say hello again. I was thinking it may just be 10 years this spring since I started your lessons. (or is it 11?) Thanks for all those half hour lessons that usually lasted 75 minutes! Of course I still play and don’t plan to put it down.
Take care!
P.S. ( i know, I know, it took Toronto to get a message… If you take a trip to B.C. let me know, I’ll have to come visit!! Sorry for my tardiness!)
January 23rd, 2007 at 12:21 pm
Imagin Ed. First Howie’s tune written for you appears on The Session and now people (Mark in particular) are “googling” you. You’re becoming somewhat of a cyberspace celebrity for us all.
I regularly check this site to see what’s been going on with you and Geor and look forward to any new blog entries. Thank god you’ve been blessed with such a wonderful, supportive family.
I’ll be moving home to CB this summer and I will anxiously await your healthy return (there are tunes for us to play my man and weekends in Malagawatch).
Miss you and Geor greatly
Scott

Ed,
You & Georgie are truly blessed, to have Jean Marie as a daughter. She always has a kind word for everyone, just like you. When my first year of high school was rough, Jean Marie always treated me like a person.
Aunt Girlie always asks about you, and sends you & Georgie her love. She thinks of you daily. Did I tell you that she’s going to be 90, later this month? She looked awesome when she came down from Halifax in November, for my wedding.
My husband & I are in the throws of moving to a better apartment, where it’s much quieter. So, it’s up with the birds later, to finish packing some boxes.
Talk to you soon *HUGS*

Almost everyday, I come to this site to see who’s been here and read the words of love and support written by people who cherish both of you. Dad, I love that you can come here and see how many people really care about you and that you have so many people routing for you..its amazing. Mom, I love that you can see that these same people adore you and credit you for being such a wonderful support for dad. He couldn’t have anyone better by his side. I love this site because its like a connection for all of us who love you both so much. We all have a place to come to share our thoughts, with you and with each other. We can feel included, like we are part of what’s happening up there. I miss you very much and can’t wait to see both of you. I love you and you make me very proud to call you “Mom and Dad”. For eveyone who leaves comments, your words are not only helpful to Mom and Dad, they are a source of comfort for all of us who come here for the same reason…………..our love for Eddie and Georgie.

Hello Georgie and Ed,
I just read your newest blog, and Ed, you were in the wrong profession when working at CBC… Your nex gig should be on a comedy stage - you are hilarious when it comes to humor and wit !!
Now, on a personal note, I am not at all in disbelief when it comes to kindness and generosity given to you and your wife from strangers… My dear friends, didn’t you ever hear the old saying, ” Good things happen to good people”. But in your case amazing things happen to truly amazing people such as yourselves. Futhermore what is most unbeliveable is that you both have no idea just how generious and kind you have been to me and my family not to mention the countless people out there in the reading audience. See you at Yuk Yuk’s.
Love to you both,
Barb & Rick Krszwda

Hi Eddie and Georgie hope all is well. It took 4 people to type this note!!! Angus MacEachern to start up the computer, and type hello, Andy to dictate, me, your daughter, Jean marie to type the words and Betty to keep everything under control as we do this. Andy pittman wants to know if this move is “georgie jefferson, movin’ on up…..???? Ha ha and says:
Ed, sharpen up your hooks for next spring! missed you at shirley and gordies on new years eve , be there next year..get the job done!!
January 17th, 2007 at 3:04 pm
Hi Guys,
I laughed and cried reading your words Eddie. I can hear your voice as if you are in front of me. Keep up the great TEAM work and I look forward to hearing a new twist to “The Devil went down to Georgia” when you come home.

Hi Eddy & Georgie
Well I have been sick most of the time you have been here although we chat on the phone & now of course the internet.
I can,t imagine the two of you being surprised at how people react to you with amazing kindness. They see the kind of people you are and so generosity comes easy for them.
Eddy talks of how amazing Georgie has been through all of this as Ed’s sister I thank God everyday she is his wife. Georgie has always been like a sister and how lucky we are to have her.
I am so proud of the man Eddy became and you could not find a better brother (even though he used to tell me how ugly I was but God in his infinite wisdom has his ways of supplying justice NOW ED AND I LOOK ALIKE) I love that part.
I am almost over the flu so we will be able to finally have our Christmas dinner we talked about. Talk soon,
Larkell
p.s.
love the site
January 15th, 2007 at 11:45 am
Hello Ed & Georgie!!
I “googled” you today and came across your site. It is great to see that you have a great sense of humour through this! - (Ed, were you a writer at CBC too?!!) You mentioned your flight simulator and I remember you showing me your impressive program and pedals etc way back then. Really enjoyed all your fiddle lessons over the years looking for your return to start them up again. I’m in need of practice!!! Seen Ashley & Howie over the holidays. Howie’s new “at the Mabou Hall” is great. Hope your wait goes faster than I tried to play fiddle those first few years (and probably now too!) Talk to you again! Best wishes!

Hello Ed, not certain if you remember us but I do recall you visiting around 2003 with John Peters from Oshawa.
As you are aware we have met your beautiful daughter Jean Marie and her son Kyle and their newest addition Pouco who Im sure you will adore.
We met Jean Marie through a mutual friend.
We have many similar interests i.e. Karoke and tarabish and a mutual love of animals.
You and your wife Georgie who we have never met have a beautiful family of whom you are justly proud.
Betty and I wish you all the best in your search for a transplant and speedy recovery, And look forward to you coming to visit.
As an aside Jean Marie attended our tarabish tournament last weekend and met a mutual family friend Andy Pittman who talks highly of your musical talents.
Again all the best.

Well, I can’t believe another Friday night is about to decend on us and no Ed and Geor. We certainly do feel your spirit, and thoroughly enjoyed reading your daily routine. We miss you dearly, and are thinking of you both constantly. After reading your exercise routine, I feel ashamed of myself. Hang in there, and love and best wishes.

Hi Eddie and Georgie. I just read your “daily routine”, I thought the reference to Sanford and Son was hilarious, I can just see Georgie doing this. You made a reference to fishing, I thought I would set the record straight for your viewing public. We did a lot of casting and drowning worms, not very much catching. When you and Georgie get home we will get to all of the “Good Spots”. Keep on Truckin.
