It doesn’t roll off the tongue quite as smoothly as the Bare Naked Ladies ditty, but it’s still fun to think about. In fact, thinking about how you might spend $250k is arguably more interesting because unlike a cool million, you have to remain mostly practical and put a lot more thought into how best to use the funds. Well, I can’t believe I’m doing this but at Jean Marie’s request, here goes. I’m not really a computer person. I read the blog, the obits etc., and I earn “play money” for my grandchildren playing Webkins but that’s as far as it goes. Barry was right Jean Marie, dad played and played great at “The Bow and Arrow” a few weeks ago. I even have it on video to prove it. (more…)

The great thing about this site is that Dad can keep everyone up to date on all the little tidbits that we here at home would love to know about. The problem is that the things we might consider interesting and fun, are the same things dear ol’ Dad neglects to tell us about.

Last night I went out for a drink with my fathers brother, Barry, who is home from Toronto on business. We had a great time and I was filled in on a little story about my Dad. (more…)

During the 60’s and 70’s the city editor at the Cape Breton Post, Ian MacNeil, ran a column he called chit chat. It was one of the most popular weekly features in the newspaper and people couldn’t wait to get their eyes on Saturday’s post to see what was in chit chat. Besides little tidbits of information, it also contained the latest rumors around town and without ever naming names or being too specific, it would often flirt with gossip. People keep asking me to update the blog on a regular basis and so I’ve decided to shamelessly plagiarize the late city editor’s idea. The only difference……….no gossip, no rumors. I will try to put something up on a weekly basis ( oh oh, I think I just made a commitment). (more…)
